Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At age 27, he entered the National Theatre School of Denmark at which he graduated in 1995. Apart from his performance in the drama series "The Killing and the film, he was also a part of Borgen III, a Danish drama series. He was also a key part in the BBC drama Sherlock in which he played the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American TV show House of Cards, he played the role of the president of Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his performance in Danish TV drama Herrens Veje. This series was telecast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019. He has claimed that the two brothers first picked up English by listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches.
